Albuquerque, NM – Chief officials have been announced for the 2025 ExxonMobil Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta® – all volunteer positions in which officials will play an integral role in ensuring the success of the 53rd annual Balloon Fiesta event.

More than 3,000 volunteers, in a variety of capacities, present throughout Balloon Fiesta Park, are needed to produce the nine-day ballooning event each year. Their work begins months before the first balloon is sighted floating in the October sky, and they share a wide variety of skills and talents on the field and in the Balloon Fiesta offices. Most of these important team members have been volunteering for a number of years and play various important roles during the event. This includes the Balloon Fiesta’s Chief Officials.

The 2025 flight operations will be led by this experienced team:

Balloonmeister – Henry Rosenbaum
Henry Rosenbaum is from Hanover, Virginia and has held a commercial pilot’s license since 1990, with over 1,600 hours of flying.  Henry retired from Henrico County Division of Fire, with 40 years of service in EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement. He has been with Fiesta’s flight operations team since 2014 and will return in 2025 as Balloonmeister for his sixth year.

Assistant Balloonmeister – Tom Bueno

His deep knowledge of ballooning and unwavering commitment to safety help ensure a secure and successful event for pilots, crews, and spectators alike.

He earned his Private Pilot’s License in 1987 and Commercial Rating in 1989 and has worked for a repair station in the past. Alex joined the AIBF Flight Safety Officials team in 2017 and has continued each year thereafter, sharing the knowledge he has gained over the years to enhance the safety of the event and the larger ballooning community.
