What’s your position at Balloon Fiesta?
My title is group tour coordinator, I handle all the tours that come to the Balloon Fiesta. We offer a special package to tour groups that include: admission, premium parking for buses and access to our Group Tour Hospitality Tent that is located next to the launch field. Our goal is to make it easy for tour groups to experience the event and provide a VIP experience.
How long have you worked at Balloon Fiesta?
I started at the Balloon Fiesta in 2009.
What is your favorite part of your job and what is the hardest?
I love helping tour operators put together a successful tour and being there when their guests experience the Balloon Fiesta for the first time. The hardest part of my job is dealing with bad weather and canceled events. It is never fun when guests leave disappointed so I always recommend that tour operators plan to attend at least two sessions so they are sure to see the balloons fly.
Tell us what you are looking forward to most at this year’s 45th event?
I am looking forward to clear skies and seeing all of the new special shape balloons coming out this year.
What advice do you have for Balloon Fiesta guests visiting for the first time?
Arrive early and don’t forget to bring a jacket, a camera and an appetite.
Do you have a favorite balloon?
I’m a Star Wars geek so I can’t pick just one. I love Yoda and Darth Vader equally and hope someday they will make a Death Star or BB8 balloon.
