Two Wheel Drive will again be sponsoring FREE bicycle valet service for the nine days of Balloon Fiesta promoting bicycling to all Balloon Fiesta events.
Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is working in tandem with Two Wheel Drive in offering Bike Valet service for all nine days of Balloon Fiesta! Cyclists will take the bike trail that runs along the AMAFCA North Diversion Channel that crosses underneath Paseo del Norte and Alameda Blvds, and then continue north where the trail crosses from the west side to the east side ending just north of the Balloon Museum, in the Bike Valet parking station sponsored by Two Wheel Drive.
“The Bike Valet service couldn’t be easier to use – just ride up and a friendly volunteer from Bike ABQ, NM Touring Society and City of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation Bike Safety Program will park your bike and safely secure it while you enjoy the events at Balloon Fiesta,” said Elaine Nelson, AIBF Transportation Manager.
“ It’s like a coat check for bicycles – riders can drop off their bikes at the valet bike parking area and receive a claim ticket. Two Wheel Drive is proud to be able to offer worry-free parking for all bicyclists coming to Balloon Fiesta this year. Cyclists reduce emissions, save money on gas and parking and reduce their carbon footprint while getting a great cardiovascular workout, as well,” said Charlie Ervin of Two Wheel Drive.
Staff will park and secure the bikes and watch over them during Balloon Fiesta events. Just ride up and one of our friendly volunteers will issue a two part ticket with one half going to the rider and the other half securely attached to the bike. Simply present your half of your valet ticket to retrieve your bike.
Balloon Fiesta Bike Valet hours of operation:
Morning Sessions 5:30AM to 9:30AM
Evening Sessions 5:00PM to 9:00PM
Bikes not picked up from the bike valet area will be removed and stored. The bike owner will have to call the Balloon Fiesta main line at 821-1000 to arrange pick up.
Please remember when you ride to the morning sessions you will be arriving in the dark and when you leave the evening sessions you will be leaving in the dark. Headlights, taillights and rear reflectors are a must, and above all wear a helmet.
